Fall is coming and Halloween is around the corner, so it is the time to start thinking about a Halloween costume for your little one or yourself

Do we know what Halloween is, how it is celebrated, what is trick-or-treating, and costume parties?

Let’s first learn a little about it.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated in many countries each year on October 31 and on that day you can expect little ghosts knocking your door for candies. Traditionally originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, early when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to repel ghosts. In the late 1800s, there was a move in America to treat Halloween as a holiday more about community get-together than about ghosts and pranks. Over the period of time, it has involved the day of activities like trick or treating, festive gathering, carving pumpkins into jack o lanterns, wearing costumes, and eating treats. Parties for both adults and children which focus on games, food, and festive costumes.

Trick-or-treat!

It is a traditional Haloween custom for children and adults in some countries. Children dressed up with colorful costumes of different characters go from house to house with the phrase “Trick or treat?”.Treat implies children demanding candies and the word “trick” refers to threat, to perform mischief on the house owners or their property if a treat is not given. In some cultures instead of candies, money is given. As you all know, Halloween costumes are very expensive and if you have a baby or young toddler like me (mom of an 18 months boy) who doesn’t yet have an opinion or preferences, then the costume made from household items is the best option.
